First Marathon OT of the year.
Sorry about the not updating kids. I just completed 6 OT tours (along with my regular tours) in the last 5 days! I have a packed weekend and a couple of things extra to accomplish as well. Thank the Creator for the wonders of caffeine! Kitty has been extra supportive, making and packing lunches and snacks while I slept. Meow! I didn't know that walking away for a week could result in 200+ emails in my inbox! Anyway, gotta get ready to take the long drive to see my sensei of all things Horological. Hope your week is going as expected.

My "old" Partner, Tim, Enjoying an Empty Street -End of the Parade, St. Patrick's Day.
Well, now that I have done the march, following our Pipes & Drums, I can tell you-it's a Very long Walk! My knee is only now relaxing through the magic of Tylenol, rest and promising that next year, I'm going to be better prepared! Sorry I didn't get any pic of me but perhaps Tim will share (he's Good like that) If you'd like to know the Met is about 4 blocks down on the right. Next year, I also hope to get everyone who has the day off. We had about 150 but I think that 400+ folks were on their RDO-Regular Day Off so there's Room for Improvement. I might post a big bunch of pics on flickr but want to check with some folks first- No, I'm not putting up the "good" shots-they are for local consumption only. I'm Proudest of this pic as Tim is perfectly dressed and framed and it just works!

R.I.P., Deborah Reeve, EMT-P
The image above is that of a Co-worker, Deborah Reeve, who died of NH-L following her participation in the WTC. We dedicated a plaque for her in Station 20 ( The old station 23-Jacobi) this past week. Pictures never really tell the whole story. She was a tough, funny-as-hell Medic who was Loved by nearly Everyone. The fact that once Jacobi was the largest Station in the city- fielding 40 units 24/7- that was no mean feat. Her husband, another medic nicknamed "Kentucky" is the same way.
The World really is the poorer for her loss. She is survived by her husband and two children with her daughter having a strong resemblance. 'Nuff said.

Relaxation!
After working a dull, if full week, tonight I'm going to the Met to see Gabriela Montero for the last time she will be anywhere nearby for at least a year! Slowly I'm sorting through things & I hope to get several things accomplished in the next day or two. I took Kitty to the city this morning, so she could get her Christmas present adjusted & to make a pilgrimage to Sahadi's in Brooklyn to go crazy-If you're ever there, ask Rob for a pound or two of his special blend coffee-if you like coffee at all, you'll like his!
I completed the Nominations process for the upcoming election. My favorite sentence was " "I'm a man with a Mission: to ensure that the elections process is Free, Fair, Open & Honest. I want you to be proud of your Union." Now comes all the Drudge work of writing everything down, contacting everyone, setting up the final process(es) checking & agreeing for the ballot printing and setting everything in Motion- kind of a Dance with tight deadlines and more than a few surprises .
Ever take on a Big job?

Where did I put my...?
I hate these days. It's like everything I want to put my hand on has decided, as a group, to make themselves unavailable! Or, even worse, I can only find Part of what I need: like the rechargeable battery for the camera I have in my hand-they were attached the last time I looked! or the memory card reader for the computer- I Know I put it into the drawer along with many of the other peripherals-specifically so I have them all in one place and they wouldn't get lost! And don't get me started on the damn Bluetooth headset- that gets lost faster than a Loose Diamond in a glass of water if I don't take the time to put it on the charger as soon as I take it out of my ear or pocket!
In Other news: Very Spendy this week-well over a Grand in fact and more coming. Never forget, this is why we Save Money & Pay Ourselves First! It's all Good! I hope to grab a couple of Overtime Tours this week, so if I don't post-Don't Fret just trying to earn a living.
Question? Did you get your Taxes done Yet?
